Goodbye to a friend

We made the sad decision earlier this week to take Maggie for the final vet visit.  She would have been 12 years old next month – we had her from about 10 weeks old.  But, her body had worn out: her legs wouldn’t support her for long, her appetite was gone, and the pain medications were no longer helping.  Nicest dog you’ve ever met, if I say so myself.  She’ll be missed.

back in the mid seventies, when my “big” brother and i were about to leave for college, my sister convinced Mom and Dad that we should have a dog. they caved… and we came home from the “shelter” with “Frisky”. your “Maggie” looks so much like she did, they could have been littermates. we all still miss that dog.

this was given to me when Tabby took the journey..
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the rainbow bridge because of it’s many colors.Just this side of the bridge there is a land of Meadows,Hills, and valley’s with Lush Green Grass. When a belovedppet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and fail animals are young again.those who were maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
Ther is only one thing missing. They are not with their person. So each day they run and play untill the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches,The ears Perk up. The eyes staring, andthis one suddenly runs from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special Friend meet, you take’em in to your arms and embrace. Your Face is licked and kissed over and over.and once more you can look into the eyes of your loving pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to part.
Never forget least you miss that chance
